My biggest love is Jesus. He is definitely It for me. I try hard to live up to what He wants me to be...if you see me fail (and you surely will), well that's me...not Him. If you're still reading along, you'll find I have great respect for others beliefs and religions. But I don't hide my faith either. And I can't hide my best Friend.
Been married to the same dear man for nearly 31 years...he retired from the Navy shortly after our 16th anniversary...I mention that so you can keep in mind some things about us (as in why I don't mind him going away for a weekend...much better than six MONTHS!) We met in the Navy and went to the McMurdo, Antarctica (summer resupply for the winter-over groups) in Jan/Feb 1977...he proposed there. We are working together again, this time as state employees on a research/grad school facility. He's in grounds, I'm in housekeeping. We like this arrangement. Now you're thinking, "I couldn't work at the same place as my DH/DW/old man/old lady...whatever!" We often don't see each other except in passing after we arrive at work! But we like knowing the other is there
We have two grown daughters (one is married). They've "boomeranged" back home...long stories...with all their dogs (our only grandchildren are
four-legged!) so we now have six (that's right...6) dogs here. Thank God we love our Canine Americans! We also like having the girls right here...the
positives outweigh the negatives for us. They're 30 and 28 btw.
I love working out, baking, reading, sewing, camping. I fell in love with train travelling this past May when we crossed the US to visit my family. The trip
became a big part of our vacation!
This is our last week at work for the year...we'll be off for Christmas/New Year and DH and I are taking off some more time (he hunts and I'll just
enjoy being at home a little longer). I'm so looking forward to just hanging out in our house...for all its faults (and it's not our dream home by a
long shot), it is a nice place!
